Cancer is a disease that affects thousands of women in Brazil and the world, with estimates of 1.7 million new cases per year. Current cancer therapy involves invasive tumor removal processes, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. These treatments have numerous side effects which represent about 70% of the cost of cancer therapy. A strong trend towards the development of biotechnology-based products for cancer are interfering RNAs (RNAi) encapsulated in nanoparticles. Our solution aims to develop a carrier delivery system of interfering RNA as a new therapy for breast cancer to generate an effective and specific response against breast cancer.
